Kutztown University is a vibrant community dedicated to fostering creativity, academic growth, and lifelong learning. Through innovative programs and engaging experiences, it empowers students to explore their passions and make meaningful contributions to the world.
I Heart KU Week is a special week-long event aimed at expressing gratitude towards the donors and supporters who make it possible for students to attend Kutztown University. The week is also dedicated to promoting philanthropy and encouraging community engagement among students, faculty, and staff.
In collaboration with the Director of Alumni Relations and the Vice President of the Presidential Ambassadors, I designed a refreshed logo for the 2019 I Heart KU Week and developed accompanying promotional graphics. These creative materials supported a weeklong series of events organized by the KU Foundation and Presidential Ambassadors to celebrate and engage faculty, donors, parents, and students.
For the 2019 I Heart KU Week, I created a series of logo sketches exploring ways to incorporate Kutztown University’s color palette, the heart symbol, and even a bear claw to reflect pride and gratitude within the university community. After reviewing concepts with the Alumni Relations team, the final logo embraced simplicity by focusing on the heart motif, allowing it to stand as a clear, memorable symbol of the week’s celebration.
Multiple supporting pieces were created to promote and advertise this special occasion to students around campus.
Projects Included: thank you postcards to parents, poster, thank you cards to Professors, social media graphics, and fun fact posters
Offering week-long immersions to explore art, music, film and design, high school students are able to create lasting memories. Students come together for a week of creative exploration. They have the opportunity to dorm on campus, learn new skills, and get to know what is like to be a college arts student.
Over the course of the year, I collaborated closely with a KU professor and department heads to develop the visual identity for the Kutztown Arts Academy, a new summer arts camp. My role included creating the logo and establishing a cohesive branding system that could be used across promotional materials, ensuring the camp launched with a strong, recognizable presence.”
In developing the logo for the Kutztown Arts Academy, I began by researching existing visual identities for summer camps, arts programs, and higher education initiatives. Because the academy encompassed multiple individual camps across different disciplines, the challenge was to create a design that felt inclusive without leaning too heavily toward any one area of study. The final concept focused on a clean, versatile mark that reflected creativity and community while remaining neutral enough to represent all schools within the summer program.
In addition to the logo, I created a range of supporting pieces to establish a consistent brand identity for the academy, including:
